The Water Tank Project

Since July 2014, the Water Tank Project – an “environmental art exhibition” – aims to encourage new yorkers to rise their eyes up to see the water tanks. These emblematic constructions have been covered with artistic paintings by well-known artists such as Ed Ruscha, John Baldessari, Jeff Koons, Andy Goldsworthy, Marilyn Minter, Carrie Mae Weems and Lawrence Weiner to bring people’s attention to the water global crisis.

HP, a 2014 exhibitor who has confirmed its participation to the 2015 edition of C!Print Madrid, joined this environmental project in 2013. Approached by the organisers of the exhibition for the Latex technology, the paintings have been printed in digital wide format latex. More than 150 water tanks placed on the rooftops of New-York  have been wrapped with the artists’ works inspired by modern art, fashion, interior decoration, architecture, photography etc… Duggal Visual Solutions won the call for tender and produced 12,200 m2 of printings.

This suspended exhibition continues on the ground with water tanks guided visits, fund risings, a mobile application and of course social networks’ mobilization to ensure people’s engagement.
