New BIOND brand presents innovative and sustainable solutions for the global digital printing market

The Portuguese company Digidelta is presenting a new film that uses biodegradable materials extracted from plant origin

The new brand BIOND, developed by the Portuguese company Digidelta, exhibitor of C!Print Madrid, is making its market debut with an innovative and unique range of sustainable films that will revolutionise the digital printing and visual communication sector globally. Developed with bio-based and biodegradable materials of plant origin that absorb CO2 during their growth, offering a reduced carbon footprint for the resulting plastic. This feature positions the film as potentially carbon neutral, in contrast to the carbon-heavy production of traditional plastics, and they are designed to return safely to the earth. They are 100 per cent biodegradable and can decompose in less than 90 days under the right conditions. BIOND films not only minimise emissions of volatile organic compounds, making them safer and more environmentally friendly, they also offer usability benefits identical to traditional PVC adhesive films without compromising on quality.

“The launch of the BIOND brand reflects our vision of transforming the future of digital printing worldwide with truly sustainable and innovative solutions. We know that sustainability is not just a choice, but an imperative for the global market. With the BIOND range, we believe we can redefine the standards of quality and environmental responsibility, promoting an alternative that combines efficiency and respect for the planet. The new BIOND brand brings unprecedented innovation to the market, offering a sustainable range of films that stand out globally in the digital printing and visual communication sector”,

says Armando Mota, CEO of Digidelta.

A strategy focused on sustainability

The introduction of bio-based raw materials in the BIOND line contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, bringing Digidelta’s products into line with global climate targets. In addition, Digidelta already uses photovoltaic panels which guarantee around 80 per cent of its factory’s energy self-sufficiency.

“The printing industry faces the challenge of adapting to global climate goals, and this requires the adoption of sustainable solutions that contribute to environmental preservation. We believe that bio-based materials offer a promising way forward, balancing technical performance with ecological responsibility. With BIOND, Digidelta is leading this transformation, positioning itself at the forefront of bio-based film technology and demonstrating that it is possible to innovate sustainably,” explains Rui Leitão, Chairman of Digidelta“Our aim is to respond to the needs of the current market, but also to anticipate trends, ensuring that we are one step ahead in the evolution of the industry” ,

adds Rui Leitão.

In line with its sustainable growth strategy, Digidelta has invested more than 3.5 million euros in modernising its factory in Torres Novas.
